After a long snowy winter, the sight of brilliant crocuses thrills us.
Numerous prospective tenants check out the bluebird houses. These two tree swallows outmaneuvered several competitors for this site.
Squirrels continue to amaze us with their agility and ingenuity. A pasque flower is the first perennial in our garden to bloom in spring.
The perennial bed at the side of the house is filled with lupins, lilies, monkshood, ground phlox, pinks, coral bells, goat's beard, and - would you believe rhubarb? Deer are frequent visitors to the back yard and the field beside the house. We have had as many as four at a time in the evenings.
