More hollyhocks! I wanted to be able to grow them in memory
of my grandmother. The lasagna bed is the only place where I
hae been able to grow them successfully.

who spent the day in the bergamot.

Sept 9 - divided one Helenium plant into 9 this past spring. Wow!

Summary: 2005 was a hot dry year, but the garden was never watered once (other than what came from the sky). The layers of organic materials held water well, and the bloom was fabulous. I was thrilled to be awarded second place in the "Country Gardens" category of the Canadian Gardening Magazine "Gardens of the Year Contest".
And that's the end of the story... for now...
